Another important factor that can contribute a great deal too minimizing instances of heartburn and help in its natural cure is a habit of drinking enough water. It has been observed that a person who has drunk a lot of alcohol can diminish possibilities of an acid reflux attack at night by drinking enough water before going off to bed.
It is also necessary that a tablet is always taken with a full glass of water and only once the mouth has been moistened with enough of it. Water acts as a diluting element and doesn't allow the acid to be too strong, so that even in the unfortunate instance of its return to the esophagus, an acute attack of heartburn does not occur.

Natural Remedy for Heartburn
Natural remedy for heartburn is effective in curbing the disease and even eliminating the symptoms completely when followed diligently and with seriousness.
Natural remedies for heartburn are many and varied. Heartburn is one of those rare medical conditions that respond very well to natural remedies. These measures can be categorized as lifestyle and dietary changes.
Natural remedy for heartburn involving lifestyle changes
Putting the head on a elevated position while sleeping – One simple measure that can be adopted as a part of natural remedy for heartburn is to raise the head side of the mattress while retiring for the night. This should be brought about with the help of wedge shaped pillows or placing bricks underneath the mattress and not simply by adding more pillows. This natural remedy for heartburn works as the gravitational pull prevents the contents of the stomach from escaping back to the esophagus thus physically eliminating chances of heartburn.
Another simple natural remedy for heartburn involves staying up after a meal for at least two to three hours. Immediately proceeding to rest after a meal can cause the gastric acid to seep back into the esophagus, causing heartburn.
One common but lesser known cause of heartburn is stress. The natural remedy for heartburn which is recommended to counter this case involves meditation, listening to soothing music, pursuing a creative hobby like drawing or painting, going on a relaxing vacation or practicing other techniques for relaxing the mind. On giving up smoking not only are you following a tip for natural remedy for heartburn but also eliminating possible causes of infertility, premature aging and even cancer.
In European countries aloe Vera juice taken in its processed form is often recommended as a natural remedy for heartburn. However no scientific studies have been conducted to prove this claim. Aloe Vera is supposed to soothe the inner surface of the esophagus that is irritated due to constant exposure to organic acid.
Slippery elm and marshmallow are two other products that are used in natural remedy for heartburn. These products are again supposed to coat the inner lining of the esophagus and provide relief from heartburn. However like aloe Vera the effectiveness of these ingredients of natural remedy have not been proven by any scientific examination.

You can use certain breathing techniques to help you relax your mind and body, rather than stress them. Yoga helps you to relearn that natural state that your body and mind want to be in: relaxation.
This deep breathing exercise is both calming and energizing. This energy that you will feel from a few minutes a careful deep breathing is not nervous or hyper energy, but a calm, steady energy that we all need. This slow, steady breathing gives a message to your nervous system to be calm.
There have been whole books written on yoga breathing exercises. The following is one 5-minute breath break. Make sure you read through the instructions several time before you try the practice.
1. Sit with your spine as straight as possible. Use a chair if necessary but don't slump into it. Feet flat on the floor with knees directly over the center of your feet. Use a book or cushion under your feet if they do not rest comfortably on the floor. Hands are on the tops of your legs.
2. Close your eyes gently and let them rest behind closed lids.
3. Think about your ribs, at the front, back, and at the sides of your body. Your lungs are behind those ribs.
4. Feel your lungs filling up, your ribs expanding out and up. Feel your lungs emptying, your ribs coming back down and in. Don't push the breath.
5. The first few times you do this, do it for 2 to 3 minutes, and then do it for up to 5 to 10 minutes. At first, set aside a time at least once a day to do this. When you learn how good it makes you feel, you'll want to do it at other times as well.
Just as one stressful situation goes into your next challenge, relaxing for a few minutes every day gradually carries over into the rest of your daily life and activities.

Treaments for Asthma
Asthma treatment can cure the disease and also provide immediate relief. Most physicians prescribe a combination of both kinds of drugs for effective treatment.
There are many types of asthma treatments available and popular; some of them cure the disease while some asthma treatments only bring short term relief. Most conventional treatment courses recommended by doctors involve both long and short term asthma treatments. The doctor usually recommends the course of the treatment based on the severity of the condition.
Let us study in details the long term asthma treatment. The medicines for long term asthma treatment have to be taken over a relatively long time, may be even years, and might need to be taken every day. They bring relief from stubborn and chronic asthma. Inhaler introduces corticosteroids are medicines that form a part of long term asthma treatment by reducing the inflammation in the nasal passage and allowing the air to pass through. They not only provide relief but help to cure the disease. Corticosteroids are also useful for asthma treatment as they need to be introduced into the nasal cavity directly and therefore minimize the risk of secondary infections.
Bronchodilators are medicines that are important for asthma treatment as they open up the constricted airways therefore reducing the suffering. The effect of these asthma treatment medicines last at least for 12 hours , therefore in very severe cases 2 doses in a day suffice to bring relief. These medicines are used in mild to severe cases and in all cases to prevent nighttime symptoms.
Leukotrienes block the action of harmful substances released inside the lungs during asthma. These harmful substances cause the lining of the airways to become inflamed, causing difficulty in breathing. This asthma treatment is effective as it is able to control the root cause of the disease.
In some rare cases it has been observed that a mild attack of asthma often follows an exercise routine. In such cases asthma treatment involves cromolyn and nedocromil introduced through inhalers. These drugs are often effective in preventing such attacks altogether.
Theophylline is another drug used in asthma treatment, however it is not recommended except in very rare cases as its use causes side effects like irregular heartbeat, acid reflux, nausea, abdominal pain and so on.
The short term asthma treatments or those asthma treatments that involve relieving the symptoms or preventing the onset of the disease are also very popular. The medicines that form a part of this sort of asthma treatment can also be taken when the disease has just set in and the initial symptoms have surfaced. The most popular short term asthma treatment medicine is composed of short acting beta two agnostics, The effect of these medicines last for four to six hours, therefore the relief provided is immediate, however these medicines cannot prevent the symptoms from coming back.
Ipratropium and corticosteroids are other asthma treatment drugs that are popular with doctors. The first of these provides quick relief; the second one takes 2 to 3 days to be effective. The second asthma treatment medicine namely corticosteroids are prescribed by doctors only when the asthma is severe and not responding to milder drugs. The long term use of corticosteroids is not recommended as it has severe and harmful side effects.

Asthma Uncovered
A medical condition in which the passage of air to the lungs becomes narrower, asthma is a disease easily controlled with the right medication and care.
Asthma is a chronic health condition that afflicts some people. During an asthma attack the air passages, or the passages that carry air from the nose to the lungs get narrower making is difficult to breath. This in turn happens as asthma causes inflammation in the inner lining of the airways, at this stage the passages become very sensitive and get irritated at the slightest contact with matter the patient might be allergic to, asthma also prompts the air passages to produce more mucus that usual and this again contributes to narrowing the passage further. In this way asthma affects the passage of air and oxygen into the lungs causing the patient to suffer from wheezing, cold cough and so on.
Asthma cannot be totally cured, but the modern day medicines are successful in keeping the asthma symptoms in control and helping patients lead normal & happy lives. The acutest attacks of asthma mostly happen in the night and the early mornings. Asthma is also a seasonal disease in so much as spring time asthma is concerned. This is related to the pollen that gets carried along by the dry air of the spring and causes allergic reactions on many patients of asthma.
Though on the whole asthma is considered a normal disease, it can sometimes take fatal proportions. During such times asthma attacks can narrow down the air passage so much that vital organs can fail due to lack of oxygen. Even death can result from such a condition. At this stage asthma is considered a medical emergency.
To control asthma it is important to monitor your condition on a daily basis, continue with the medicines prescribed by the doctor, be disciplined in one’s lifestyle, to stay away from things that can cause an allergic reaction in the airways, keep your immediate environment as clean of dust and mold as possible, stay in regular touch with the physician and consult him at the first signs of alarm.
It’s not yet been discovered as to why some people suffer from asthma while some others don’t suffer. The reason may lie in ones hereditary makeup. If you have someone in the family who has traditionally been a patient of asthma for some time, chances of your getting it are more. What causes the swelling of the airways in the first place is not clear however it has been observed that dust, tobacco smoke, some infections and allergens make it worse. For example some people have asthma attacks only when they are exercising while some have it when they get a viral infection. The asthma triggers differ from person to person and therefore giving a blanket guideline on what causes asthma is almost impossible.
Some of the allergens that are the cause of mild to severe asthma attacks in people who suffer from the disease are dust mites, animal dander that is microscopic pieces of skin hair etc, cockroaches, pollen and mold. Irritants can be almost anything, some people get an asthma attack when they are influenced by strong emotions, when they are crying or laughing loud, some others react to any strong smell, asthma attacks are common as a result of tobacco smoke, pollution and even change of weather.
The disease is however easily controllable with the right care and in most cases is not a deterrent towards leading a normal life.
